Aug 25, 2005 I have looked in my Fonts Folder (in the Control Panel) and the font is listed in there. But, when I open Excel, the font is not available in the dropdown box. What do i do to fix this? Aug 14, 2012 i downloaded some fonts of the internet for word. They are showing up in my font book, but not on my word document. If i type the full name of the font into 'fonts' on word then it will let me use it but that gets annoying when the font has a long name.

To use fonts in your apps, you need to install the fonts using Font Book. When you’re installing fonts, Font Book lists any problems it finds for you to review. You can also validate fonts later.
Install fonts
You can install fonts from a location on your Mac (or a network you’re connected to), or download additional system fonts right in the Font Book window. Fonts that you can download are dimmed in the font list.

Validate fonts
