The eagle has landed. I repeat: the eagle has landed. The latest update to Mac OS X Tiger, 10.4.11, was finally released this afternoon at a medium-hefty ~130MB for Intel users (just under 70MB for PPC). The update includes a long list of improvements that affect both PowerPC and Intel users.

Some of the changes include reliability updates when running VMware Fusion, improved syncing between iPhone and Yahoo address books, improved reliability when mounting USB drives, added support for support for Microsoft Presenter Mouse 8000, fixes for 'certain issues' with Dashboard widgets, and improved reliability when authenticating an AFP share using Kerberos. There's also a pretty long list of security updates with 10.4.11. Fixes to the Flash Player plug-in, AppleRAID, Kerberos, the Kernel, NFS, Safari, and WebKit are just a few system elements that are getting patched.

Apple warns that, if you have third-party system software mods installed, you may experience 'unexpected results' when installing this update. We all know what happened with Leopard and the BSOD, after all.

Oh yeah, and Apple also threw in a minor point update to iPhoto, bringing it to version 7.1.1. 'This update supports compatibility with Mac OS X 10.5, improves overall stability, and addresses a number of other minor issues,' reads the description. Ok so i just got myself the new Microsoft Notebook Presenter Mouse 8000.
I got this as i have been using Vista quite a bit on BootCamp.
The mouse installed and paired on Vista perfectly (without the dongle) but now i want to use it on my Mac OS X, still without the dongle, as that is the reason i bought this mouse.
I set it to connect, and check in bluetooth and say add device, this works i see a Mouse, and its Mac address, (altho it does not get its name) and then connect, and Mac says its been connected correctly and ready to use.
But the connect light on the mouse is still flashing Red and Green (which is the connect state) and it does not move.
So turned it off and on again, and still no movement.
I checked in bluetooth devices and its not showing up.
I have done this a couple of times, can anyone put me out of my misery?
